Meet Dj Chopstar, a South African born, global citizen at heart, Soweto based and full-time globe trotter. Over the last few years, he has floated,
dreamed and swooned his way across the world to some of the loftiest echelons. With a strong foundation in House Music, Chopstar has been
crafting musical chemistry for over eight years.
From a young age, he has been in love with music. He joined the entertainment scene as a teenager and was intrigued with spinning records and making crowds of people dance. He taught himself how to blend and mix tracks, drawing inspiration from radio shows and DJ mixtapes. With
determination and hard work, he mastered this craft and was able to mix smoother and create seamless transitions between songs. Chopstar's music is often described as the sound of life, very good, and something that people listen to. His sets are known to be energetic and infectious, leaving party-goers wanting more. He has called house music his home for a number of years now and is constantly pushing the boundaries and experimenting with new sounds.When asked about his role models in the music industry, Chopstar mentions Black Coffee, Darque, Culoe De Soul , Dj Kent, DJ Shimza, and Black Motion among others. Their unique styles and success have inspired him to constantly improve his own skills and strive for greatness in the industry.
