The tenor Christian Elsner has been an internationally sought-after soloist and successful professor of voice at the HfM Würzburg from 2006 to 2017 and at the HfM Karlsruhe since 2018. Many of his alumni perform at opera houses such as the Hamburg State Opera, the Zurich Opera House or the Semperoper Dresden.
After studying with Prof. Martin Gründler and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau through awards at the ARD Competition in Munich and the Walther Gruner Lieder Competition in London, he soon began collaborating with accompanists such as Hartmut Höll, Gerold Huber and Burkhard Kehring. He has given numerous song recitals at venues including the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Schubertiade Feldkirch, Chicago and the Philharmonie Paris.
Christian Elsner's opera career included Lenski in Heidelberg, Idomeneo in Oslo and Siegmund and Parsifal in Weimar, Kassel, at the Teatro Teal Madrid, at the Semperoper Dresden and at the Vienna State Opera.
Among the numerous concerts in all major centers of classical music such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie, the Concertgebouw, the Vienna Musikverein, the Carnegie Hall, La Scala or the Suntory Hall his personally most valuable musical highlights are Dvorak's "Stabat Mater" under Mariss Jansons, Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde" under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Schmidt's "The Book with Seven Seals" under Manfred Honeck, Wagner's "Parsifal" under Semyon Bychkov and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under Sir Simon Rattle.
