Remi Jean (formerly known as Cityreal) is an award-nominated and critically acclaimed artist and producer from Vancouver, BC. After a long hiatus shaped by grief, addiction, and depression, he is returning with his most ambitious and personal body of work to date. His music is a mix of soulful and symphonic hip-hop blended with introspective lyrics and nuanced political commentary.
Known for his cinematic production style, Remi’s upcoming album Lost in Vancouver is slated for release in 2026. Entirely self-produced, the project features Rich The Kid, TOBi, Jully Black, Saukrates, and others. The project includes major contributions from world-renowned addiction specialist and safe injection site founder Dr. Gabor Maté, along with expansive orchestral arrangements recorded by the Vancouver Film Orchestra. Canadian hip-hop pioneer Roger Swan serves as mixer and executive producer.
He has produced songs for Madchild, Snak The Ripper, and many more. He has earned three Western Canadian Music Award nominations, and surpassed one million Spotify streams.
Remi spent years touring Canada and the United States with Swollen Members. He also toured with Souls of Mischief, Warren G, and D-Sisive, and has opened for Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Tech N9ne, Big K.R.I.T., K’Naan, Jazz Cartier, and many others.
