CKay, popularly known as "Africa's Boyfriend", combines his raw emotions with African rhythms to create a sound he calls "emo afrobeat".
He ran away from his parents’ house in Kaduna to Lagos, Nigeria at the age of 18 because they didn’t agree with his career choice. His drive, unique personality, style and music have garnered love and attention from fans and enthusiasts worldwide.
In 2019 he released his first official EP CKay The First which spawned his global smash Love Nwantiti. Two years later it peaked at #1 on the global shazam charts for over 2 months, peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Billboard Global Charts. It was the first afrobeats song to break several of these records. Several global figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Georgina Rodriguez, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Virgil Van Dijk and many others cosigned it.
He went on to release his debut album Sad Romance, which spawned the hit singles Emiliana, WATAWI (ft. Davido, Focalistic & Abidoza) & HALLELUJAH (ft. Blaqbonez). He immediately went on his sold out tour in the USA, Canada & Europe and smashed it. The superstar is back at it again with new music MYSTERIOUS LOVE & IS IT YOU?
