CODY is a widely critically acclaimed Danish six-piece band playing folk inspired pop melodies with hints of poetic noise, post rock and luscious harmonies, balancing lightheartedness and melancholy. CODY has released 5 albums (Songs, 2009, Fractures, 2012, Windshield, 2014, I'll Ride With You, 2016, and Win Some, 2020) and two EPs (CODY 2009, Under the Pillow, Under the Elms 2011), and will be releasing their sixth album in 2025.
The band was started by front man Kaspar Kaae, also a prize-winning film composer, in 2004. Joining Kaae are David Fjelstrup, Frederik Thybo and Line Felding. Several musicians have over the years taken part in the band's activities. As a very active and treasured live band they have established themselves as a vibrant collaboration of extremely talented and hard working musicians.
Over the years CODY has been invited to support acts like Black Francis (2007), The National (2008), Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (2008), Tindersticks (2010) and Band Of Horses (2011). They have been touring and playing numerous festivals in Denmark, Europe and America, for example Roskilde Festival (DK) three times, SXSW (USA), Fusion Festival (DE), G! Festival (FO), Skanderborg Festival (DK), Spot Festival (DK), Tønder Festival and many, many more, and their music has been featured in films such as the German Warner Bros. film ”12 Meter Ohne Kopf” and the Danish award-winning film “En Familie” (DK) / ”A Family” (UK).
