Dad Relax - a moniker to stick - something derived from a story of warm milk and angsty youths. Dad Relax is a project created by the musicians Louis Abell, Aidan Foster-graves, Louis Kakavas and Sarah Law. Residing in Newcastle the band is inspired by the fusion of dreamy pop and dance music-esque. Dad Relax seeks to evoke an emotional experience by combining melodic dreamy guitar, soothing vocals and smooth keyboard with rhythmic ethereal drums, synth pads and enveloping bass lines.
Dad Relax have been gracing local stages since 2014 under the guise of Republic Cucumber Magazine and supporting the likes of Gang of Youths, Husky and the Thundamentals to name a few. Oozing with passion, love and time for the music, the band reunited and rebranded in 2020. As soon as it was time to come out of lock down - Dad Relax headed west, to a mountain. To escape technology, distraction, and time itself. It was here that new beginnings were founded.
