New to Spotify, David Lyttle is a MOBO and Urban Music Award nominated jazz drummer, composer and hip-hop producer described by Rolling Stone as ‘one of the best, robust listening experiences you're likely to have all year’. Starting out as a child performer at the age of four with his family band, he first reached a national audience in the band of legendary Irish jazz guitarist Louis Stewart. He has gone on to bring his live projects to almost fifty countries, releasing 6 albums and 11 EPs and collaborating with the arts world's upper echelon, including jazz giants Joe Lovano and Kurt Rosenwinkel, and hip-hop icons Talib Kweli, Frank Nitt and Soweto Kinch. In Ireland he has had the honour of performing for President Michael D. Higgins and he paid musical tribute to homegrown music legend Van Morrison at 75 in collaboration with another of the island’s legends, film great Liam Neeson.
