Originally from Kalix, a small town in northern Sweden, K-laz began his journey as a Hip-Hop DJ in the mid-90s, heavily influenced by the Golden Era wave of New York-rap. Before music took over, he was a promising soccer talent, representing the Northern Sweden youth state team 🇸🇪.
He released his first album on Sony/Valentine in 2005 💿 and earned a Swedish Grammy nomination in 2008 with The Last Days Of Disco, all while simultaneously building a career as an investigative journalist for some of Sweden’s largest newspapers.
K-laz has released music on labels such as Vinyl Digital, Discowax, and Universal, and is known for his versatile production style deeply rooted in jazz, soul and funk. Over the years, his music has been sampled by artists including Dave East and DJ Grumble.
