Denise “DeDe” Lopez
DeDe Lopez signed her first record deal with Sony Music in 1994 after touring the world as a dancer behind artists like Melodie MC, Dr. Alban and Culture Beat. Her debut single Party (1995) launched her international career and quickly led to a gold record in Japan.
Her biggest hit, My Lover, was co-written with Max Martin, Per Magnusson, David Kreuger, Kristian Lundin and DeDe herself, solidifying her as one of Sweden’s most exciting pop voices. Over the years, she has worked with world-renowned producers and songwriters including Max Martin, Andreas Carlsson, Anders Bagge, Derek Bramble (David Bowie, Whitney Houston), Herbie Crichlow, Father MC, Pras Michel (Fugees), MC Lyte and Michael Feiner.
DeDe has sold over 500,000 albums worldwide and made history as the only Swedish artist to open for Michael Jackson at his Gothenburg concert in 1997. Two years later, she performed for 100,000 fans at Tokyo Dome.
From 2018 onwards, DeDe has continued releasing new music, including Universal Law (2025), which was nominated for Best EDM at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards (HIM Awards) in Los Angeles in July 2025.
She is also a member of Super Fëmmes – a powerhouse group dedicated to unity, empowerment and celebrating women.
DeDe will release her first memoir on April 8, 2026, marking 30 years since her debut album.
