Combining the new wave sound of the 80s, the brash in-your-face post-punk style of the 2000s, and the creative freedom of modern indie, Devices mixes decades of inspiration into an eclectic synth-pop sound driven by the intensity of heart and emotion.
Formed in 2015, Devices consists of Austin Tan (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Arik Gatchalian (Lead Guitar), Andrea Ramos (Keys/Synths), Jacob Ferrer (Synths/Producer), Enzo Alampay (Drums), and Javi Serrano (Bass). Their debut EP, The Element of Surprise, was released in 2018 to positive reviews, and considered as one of the top local music releases that year by The Flying Lugaw. The EP was also featured by international publication Colors Studio, who praised its dynamic and textured sound.
After spending 2019 writing and sharpening their craft, they released the Awit-award nominated single, “Tell Me, Is There Anyone?”, in February 2020 with a darker and grittier sound, exploring both new sonic landscapes and subject matter.
In 2021 they released "Setup and Punchline" showcasing more of the band's versatility in creating mood and atmosphere.
Moving onwards with sheer creative force despite all the setbacks of the pandemic they released "All in All" in January 2022.
They are currently working on their debut album, which will be released eventually.
