Ektomorf was founded in 1994 by Zoltán "Zoli" Farkas in Hungary, blending groove metal, thrash, and Roma roots. After early albums like "Kalyi Jag" and their breakthrough "I Scream Up to the Sky" (2002), they became known for brutal sound and explosive live shows.
Signing with Nuclear Blast brought defining albums like "Destroy" and "Outcast". Later, they explored acoustic sounds with "The Acoustic" and returned heavier with "Black Flag". Tours with Ill Niño and major festival appearances followed.
"Aggressor" (2015) and a U.S. tour boosted global recognition. "Fury" (2018) led to their first world tour. "Reborn" (2021) hit new chart heights. In 2022, Zoli's Nirvana cover went viral, leading to the hit single "Heart-Shaped Box" (2023).
After "VIVID BLACK", shaped by pandemic struggles, Ektomorf played their biggest shows yet, including touring with Five Finger Death Punch. Now, their most personal album "Heretic" (Oct 24, 2025) channels Zoli’s grief into pure, raw metal.
“Heretic is the most honest album I’ve ever made... Pain connects us all, and through music, we survive.” – Zoltán "Zoli" Farkas
