London born and raised ELLIE M grew up on the soulful sounds and legendary voices of Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Tracy Chapman, to name a few. Connecting to the raw truth that all of these artists beholden in their songs, she endeavours to produce songs conveying her own truths inlaid with a mixture of genres.
In her younger years, Ellie could be found under her bed, blasting any and all music that she could find- anything from Bollywood to Lauryn Hill. The realisation she could write her own songs hit her at the age of 14- the same year she picked up a guitar. From then on, she could not be stopped. Addicted to using music as a coping mechanism for the anxiety she faced growing up, the foundation of her lyric’s honesty was laid.
