Eme Alfonso is a Cuban singer and songwriter whose work has become a bridge between her Afro-Cuban heritage and contemporary sounds. Latin Grammy Award winner in 2022.

Born and raised in La Havana, Cuba, from a family of renowned musicians who pioneered the fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms with rock and jazz in the 1970s she become a key member of the iconic band Síntesis, led by her parents. This strong musical lineage laid the groundwork for her career, as she blended the sounds of her culture with other global genres

In 2022, she achieved a major milestone, winning a "Latin GRAMMY Award" and the "Cuban Grand Prix at the Cubadisco Awards" for "Ancestros Sinfónico", alongside X Alfonso and Síntesis, a work that pays tribute to her Afro-Cuban roots through symphonic music. She has received multiple accolades for her earlier works, including the "Best Fusion Album" for "Señales" (2009), "Eme" (2012), and "Voy" (2018).

Eme’s talent has taken her to prestigious stages worldwide, such as the "NPR Tiny Desk Concert" in 2021, during the Hispanic Heritage Month, where her performance was described as a spiritual experience, deeply connected to her Afro-Cuban roots. She has also performed at renowned international events like "SXSW Festival" 2019 and "WOMEX Music Expo" 2019, earning critical acclaim for her vibrant fusion of traditional rhythms with electronic and contemporary sounds.
