Las Cafeteras is a musical group of friends who began playing music together in marches and protest in the streets of LA. As friends they evolved into a band in 2010 heavily influenced by the vibrant cultural scene of East Los Angeles where members were drawn to the rich tapestry of Mexican and Chicano music, movement for human rights, as well as the diversity of sounds from the Americas and the Caribbean.

Over time, Las Cafeteras sonically evolved into a dynamic electro-folk musical collective that blends various genres such as Cumbia, Punk, Hip-Hop, and Afro-Mexican beats, rhythms and rhymes to create a unique sound that has resonated with audiences worldwide. The band has built a reputation for its electrifying performances and have received recognition, both nationally and internationally, performing at festivals, concerts, and cultural events around the world (WOMEX, Bonnaroo, Montreal Jazz, Hollywood Bowl). They have released several albums, including "It's Time" (2012) and "Tastes Like LA" (2017), which have received critical acclaim and are about to release their 3rd Full length album in 2024.
