YANG Feifei is a virtuoso on the Erhu and Banhu, two Chinese stringed instruments, as well as a successful vocalist. In China, her talents have been recognized by a Gold Medal at the Beijing National New Talent Competition. She is a dual 2017 Global Music Award Winner - Female Vocalist & Popular Music.
In New York, her new hometown, she was assistant director and soloist in the Chinese entertainment segment of the 2017 Times Square New Year’s Eve Countdown. She has also performed in such legendary settings as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Barclays Center, the United Nations, CBS, WNBC and New York Fashion Week.
As a performer, Feifei has released several singles and albums, including Dance of the Strings (composer and performer on acoustic and electric Erhu); Vermillion Bird (Erhu); and Gu•Ran (Erhu). Her award-winning performance in “Tug of War,” her 2017 pop music video debut, showcased her talents as an actress as well as a singer and Erhu master; the song combines Chinese Erhu and American pop into a unique blend of Chinese and Western music, art and style.
Feifei’s company, FFY Arts Production and Consulting, is a concert presenter and promoter specializing in musicians and performing artists. Her work with Pratt Institute’s Visual Arts and Humanities Research Center further pushes the boundaries of art and science, combining music and “wearable technology.”
