In a world that is spinning relentlessly faster, Fias music makes us stop and think - where are we going and why? Since the debut in 2016, Fia who was raised in the Stockholm area but now living in Rättvik, Dalarna, has explored humanities relation to the physical - to the earth we live on - and the psychological - what makes us discover hidden layers and unseen roads to explore within ourselves. Especially as an artist, you consistently have to take conscious steps towards something new.
When Fia went back into the studio after 2024's successful “Keeper of the Keys”, just such a shift occurred. Where its predecessor was shimmering epic pop, with big arrangements, the four new songs that make up her EP ”Season of Loss” are instead stripped down, recorded live and more straightforward than ever. The lyrics, which have been central to Fia's artistry since her debut, are now even more rooted in a narrative tradition. Inspiration came from both a tough period in the artist's own life that added weight and necessity to everything written.
Moving like a chameleon between different genres and contexts has been one of Fia's greatest assets throughout her career. The music and storytelling follow a life journey and the listener follows closely in the artist's footsteps, keeping it intimate and ever evolving. Where will she go next?
