Funky DL is a UK MC, producer and composer whose jazz-infused approach to hip-hop has made him a defining voice in the global jazz-rap landscape since the mid-1990s. Dropping his debut album in 1997, DL has released a vast catalogue of vocal instrumental work, weaving smooth jazz harmonies with boom-bap beats.

DL’s releases carve out a sound that sits comfortably between jazz, hip-hop and chilled beat culture, drawing from the melodic, jazz-rooted lineage associated with A Tribe Called Quest and Pete Rock.
