As chillwave was becoming a common household term in 2010, Oneohtrix Point Never's Dan Lopatin and Tigercity's Joel Ford teamed up in Brooklyn to form the retro-sounding dream pop duo Games. The two childhood friends recorded a 7” single titled Everything Is Working on Hippos in Tanks in August of that year. In the winter of 2010, just after completing their first EP, That We Can Play, Ford and Lopatin were forced to change the band’s name for legal reasons and settled on an obvious choice, Ford & Lopatin. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
