“…the Philadelphia singer-songwriter ranks among the most striking female blues voices of recent years.”
-The Boston Globe
Gina Sicilia's ambition and determination has always set her apart. The decorated blues vocalist penned her first song at age 12 and, after the overwhelmingly positive response to her 2007 debut album, Allow Me to Confess, started touring all over the world.
"I’ve learned that hard work and experience are what it takes to grow and become a better artist," she says. "And I see myself as always evolving, reaching for a kind of perfection within the music I love to make. I’m not sure I’ll ever find it, but I’ll never stop searching."
Since nabbing a Blues Music Award nomination for Best New Artist in 2008, Sicilia has expanded her work into the culinary space, while still recording new music. Her 11th Studio album, a deeply heartfelt tribute album, Bring It On Home: A Tribute to Sam Cooke, is a passionate homage to one of music’s most legendary voices. The album, produced by Fred Mollin, captures the spirit and timelessness of Sam Cooke’s sound while adding Sicilia’s own soulful artistry.
"This album is the ultimate love letter to Sam Cooke," Sicilia reflects. "His music shaped my passion for singing, and this project deepened that love even more. I hope listeners feel the same magic that first captivated me years ago."
