Inhabiting electronic realms slightly outside of pop, Gliss pour their collective musical imaginations into recording timeless dream pop with a precise Scandinavian texture. Known for producing and mixing their own music, the multi-instrumentalists Victoria Cecilia and Martin Klingman have also worked with Gareth Jones for mixing, who is known for his collaborations with Nick Cave & Depeche Mode. The group achieved new fans both at home and abroad finding themselves sharing bills with <a href="spotify:artist:1tpXaFf2F55E7kVJON4j4G" data-name="Black Rebel Motorcycle Club">Black Rebel Motorcycle Club</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6e9wIFWhBPHLE9bXK8gtBI" data-name="Editors">Editors</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3ihmiCsHK3zqlZRIZRubev" data-name="The Warlocks">The Warlocks</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7EFB09NxZrMi9pGlOnuBpd" data-name="The Horrors">The Horrors</a>, Glasvegas, Automatic & The Raveonettes.
Gliss recorded Smashing Pumpkins' "Rhinoceros" for a compilation, and discovered the admiration was mutual when <a href="spotify:artist:12B5JK11NOP7OQ9Fxjrpx2" data-name="Billy Corgan">Billy Corgan</a> invited the group to open for him on a European tour to promote his first solo album & later opened for the <a href="spotify:artist:40Yq4vzPs9VNUrIBG5Jr2i" data-name="The Smashing Pumpkins">The Smashing Pumpkins</a>. Tough Cookie, a British label partnered with Gliss for a series of singles and released their first full-length album, Love the Virgins, the following year, as well as an EP; in the U.S., Gliss signed with Cordless Recordings, a label under Warner Bros.
