Sara Petursdottir was born and raised in Reykjavik Iceland, studied Ballet and Contemporary dance from age 7-16 aiming to become a professional performer when she would grow up. Sara used her own bedroom as an escape from the bullying at school to play music by her favourite artists and to teach herself how to sing. Shortly after she won the Singing Contest of Icelandic Junior Colleges in 2014 age 17 she quit school and started her music career and went by the stage name 'Glowie'. She was offered 11 record deals in 2017 and ended up signing with Columbia Records in the UK.
