Three EPs & a 2021 debut album, several Nordics tours and major festival slots at the likes of Roskilde & SPOT have seen Danish artist Gurli Octavia’s acoustic, organic sound take on a strong, independent alt-pop sheen.
In the run up to her debut LP, Gurli found liberation both in the choice of songs on the album and in the production of the songs, but most of all a liberation from other people's attitudes towards her as a person and as an artist.
Gurli’s newfound independence saw her establish her own eighteighteightyeight label (and ink a collaborative deal with respected UK indie Integrity Records) for the 2021 release of debut album ‘I Could Be Blossoming Instead’, and now for her first brand new material, single 'Lemme Lie Down' (4th March 2022), kicking off a run of fresh tracks dropping through 2022 as part of her bold new chapter.
With significant airplay for recent singles on Danish national radio, support on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales & BBC Radio Ulster, and growing tastemaker interest in the UK & elsewhere, Gurli hopes that 2022 will be the year the wider world finally hears her name.
