Haysen Cheng

Haysen Cheng is a rapper, singer and songwriter from Hong Kong who began releasing songs independently in 2019 and gained regional buzz after multiple music videos from his first projects “Durags &amp; Chopsticks” and “North Point Demos, Vol. 1” were building up traction, which led to increasing interest from major labels. In 2021, Haysen Cheng moved to Mainland China and officially joined IRIS Creative, a collective based in Chengdu that includes <a href="spotify:artist:6l8D5mZvv6wusxpawsw1t6" data-name="Harikiri">Harikiri</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6oYvpkS6pM9ts4nbXRaINg" data-name="Vinida Weng">Vinida Weng</a>, where he debuted with his 2022 EP “Don Chino” that charted at Top 50 in China and included guest features from <a href="spotify:artist:07ZhipyrvoyNoJejeyM0PQ" data-name="Higher Brothers">Higher Brothers</a> member <a href="spotify:artist:5RDc1XN9Dj5KcNGPMEhtzN" data-name="KnowKnow">KnowKnow</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5RtnVWT1qYQHMxM3IVkqnu" data-name="GALI">GALI</a>. After his collab EP “Angels &amp; Demons” with <a href="spotify:artist:0TYZXCiZD15b3kgF3yxPKb" data-name="Clutch離合">Clutch離合</a> (and featuring legendary American rapper <a href="spotify:artist:4bbjivSh1oG4NOc7uYHfw5" data-name="Lil B">Lil B</a>) was well received, the momentum was followed up with an explosive guest verse on the viral hit single “Tsim Sha Tsui” from <a href="spotify:artist:2CcEVYGwtfcRZYgFyAUQK8" data-name="DIGI GHETTO">DIGI GHETTO</a> member <a href="spotify:artist:6bInA3c3EAojYc7Ut2xfMS" data-name="KIV">KIV</a>’s sophomore album “Tai Zi”, which served as a catalyst for Haysen Cheng’s Cantonese-inspired debut album “Hong Kong Don”, released recently in March 2025 and features a star-studded roster of <a href="spotify:artist:6oYvpkS6pM9ts4nbXRaINg" data-name="Vinida Weng">Vinida Weng</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2JFP3hk2ys0hH6nnoduRkR" data-name="Novel Fergus">Novel Fergus</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6bInA3c3EAojYc7Ut2xfMS" data-name="KIV">KIV</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0TYZXCiZD15b3kgF3yxPKb" data-name="Clutch離合">Clutch離合</a>, and YHL. Singles from the album peaked at Number 9 on the charts in China and landed on various Spotify editorial playlists.

Haysen Cheng draws inspiration from personal life experiences and delivers grimy, hard hitting flows equally as well as surprisingly exquisite melodies through distinctively smooth transitions between native English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
