Higher Brothers are “the current breakout stars of the Chinese hip-hop world.” (The New York Times) As featured by CNN, Vice News, NPR, Nylon and beyond, they are the first Chinese rap act to find success internationally. Hailing from Chengdu in mainland China, members MaSiWei, Psy.P, Dzknow and Melo are proving that “language barriers aren't an issue and all that matters is the music.” (Pigeons & Planes)
This year, Higher Brothers took America by storm for the first time ever in January, and hit the ground running with their sold-out, headlining North American tour. The momentum has not slowed down since their 14-track, debut album, Black Cab. Released May 2017, the project generated raving reviews and earned the group extensive features with Paper and Hypebeast. From “Made In China,” their tongue-in-cheek look into provincial China, to their literal homages to the store, “711” and the app, “WeChat,” Higher Brothers’ bold statement pieces are leading the way “for a rowdy, transgressive new world of Chinese hip-hop.” (LA Times)
