Hoth are a melodic Black Metal duo hailing from the Pacific Northwest. They started humbly, creating and sharing demos with friends. They eventually had enough demos for an EP, and in 2012 re-recorded those songs along with several additional to independently release their first LP entitled "Infinite Darkness".
After joining the mysterious Epicurus records, they began to work on their next release, an hour-plus gargantuan concept album. Countless sessions took place over the next 3 years, with material constantly being re-worked and re-recorded; several songs discarded into the abyss, never to be heard by a living soul outside the band. They began crafting longer and more dynamic songs that eventually made the cut, and formed the greater concept of "Oathbreaker" which was finally released in May of 2014.
The follow-up to Oathbreaker was released in 2018 and titled "Astral Necromancy." This album was also a conceptual work, and thematically centered on necromancy and black magic.
After Astral Necromancy, the two have been dormant- brainstorming, riff-building and composing yet again. Their 4th, and so far untitled album beginning to take shape. Since its inception, the band has remained a studio-focused project aiming to craft rich and detailed stories and visuals through their songwriting. There hasn’t been any effort or desire to arrange a live touring act, as it would detract from the focus and quality of the concept albums.
