Hailing from Chicago's, now defunct, LeClaire Courts housing projects IAMGAWD realized his love for music early on. His mother would always sing around the house and she even taught him the alphabet using notable musicians of the time.
His musical influences include Hip Hop legends such as The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Nas, Jay Z, DMX, Big Pun, The LOX and Twista to name a few. Raised by the elite wordsmiths of the 90s/early 00s
