IN EVIL HOUR have been at this for a while now. One of the few punk bands to come out of the North East of England, they've gigged relentlessly around the UK and Europe since 2011. Heavily influenced by bands such as AFI, The Nerve Agents and Bad Religion, they sling fast melodic hardcore with a distinctly bleak worldview in the lyrics, but with enough high energy three-part harmonies to almost make you forget the end-stage neoliberal hellscape in which we live.
Realising that writing punk rock songs was far easier than effecting tangible social change, In Evil Hour continue to rage into the void. December 2025 saw the release of an acoustic album 'Permanent Record' featuring 10 reinterpretations of songs from previous albums. A new EP is planned for release in 2026.
'Powerful and spellbinding' Vive Le Rock
'Capturing the remarkably elusive sweet spot equidistant between raw, unpolished energy and immaculate composition' - The Norwich Radical
'A genuinely fine example of just how vibrant the UK punk rock scene is right now' - Louder than War
