With a heavy, bleak setting to go along with an experimental touch of electronic overtones, Into The Abyss began their emotionally grin narration in 1993. Immediately debuting their first album Martyrium the year they got together, Janis Kalifatidis (vocals/ guitar), Kostas Tzeras (bass) and Jens Gellner (drums) would follow this release with a tour in and around their native Germany. After the single "La Soeur D'Icare" and a split ten-inch with Grass Harp in 1995, Into The Abyss' second full-length The Feathered Snake succeed a year later. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
