IOTUNN is a metal band from the Northern European countries of Denmark and The Faroe Islands. With two internationally acclaimed albums, Access All Worlds (2021) & Kinship (2024), IOTUNN is a rising star on the international metal scene.
The sound and lyrics of IOTUNN is inspired by the Cosmos, nature, mythology, history, and life itself. The sound is melodic and extreme. Atmospheric and heavy. Technical and simple. Layered and yet with a focused touch giving a simplicity for the ears to catch. All this leads to the atmospheric, vast and fierce metal soundscapes of IOTUNN rounded off with the voice of frontman and singer Jón Aldará.
IOTUNN is known for their mesmerizing live shows having played at Wacken Open Air (DE), 2*Summer Breeze (DE), 70.000Tons of Metal (US), Copenhell (DK), Midgardsblot (NO), John Smith (FI), Rockwave (GR), Baden in Blut (DE), ProgPower (NL) G! Festival (FO) and Karmøygeddon (NO) among others, and they just finished a Europe tour supporting Dark Tranquility and Soen.
Huge plans are already made for 2026 In March/April IOTUNN will embark on The Kinship European Tour and the band is confirmed for Brutal Assault, Motocultor Festival, Hellsinki Metal Festival and Copenhell among others.
IOTUNN just released their new live album “Waves Over Copenhell”.
The third IOTUNN album is being written.
