He left comfort behind to chase a sound that was not his by birth, but became his by conviction. Born in Barcelona and rooted in Kingston, Jamaica for over a decade, Irie Souljah moved to reggae’s source and earned his place.
After dropping out of music school in his teens, his education came from street parties, sound systems, and the words of Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, and Buju Banton. Seeing Sizzla perform live in 2009 was the moment that set his path. From then on, Irie committed his life to music with purpose and message.
After early success in Europe with his band Mystic Souldiers, he relocated permanently to Jamaica in 2014. Immersed in the culture, he built respect through consistency and craft. His debut album Immigrant marked a breakthrough, featuring Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal, and led to touring across Europe alongside Cocoa Tea, and appearing with Chronixx, and Jr Gong.
In 2023, Irie Souljah released “All About Love” that reached close to 10 million streams worldwide and have hits like Helping Hand and Thankful. His latest album “World Citizen” produced by Irie Souljah together with his right hand man Genius T, features Alborosie, Kabaka Pyramid, and MediSun, a statement of creative innovation, growth and vision.
Nominated twice for the Caribbean Music Awards, Irie Souljah enters 2026 with a major United States tour including Reggae Rise Up and Austin Reggae Fest.
