ISHTARKA is the artistic name of the Mexican electronic musician Raúl Arteaga who was born on February, 1988 in Mexico City. Since 2016 he uses the alias of ISHTARKA for his musical productions. His artistic name comes from his interest in occultism, shamanism, magic and the occult science. Raúl is self-taught as musician, singer and producer; he specializes in percussion because he has played the drums since he was 3 years old. The mix he uses of digital rhythms and progressive drums shows neat atmospheres defined by his mean influences from rock music, expressing the powerful drum and the electronic music with his environmental sounds, electronic beats that evolve and make his project a sensorial palette that co-creates psychedelia conducted to a hypnotic session which is deep, nostalgic, intense and oscillating.
