James Patrick Hogan is a musician from Birmingham, U.K. who gained experience as a bass player for several bands in the Birmingham scene over the past few years. He currently plays for the indie-punk outfit Retail Store, as well as the progressive/experimental rock band Treecreep.
On 9th May he released his first solo single "Apparition". Featuring his Treecreep bandmate Matthew Joshua, the track pays tribute to his prog influences such as Camel, Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Opeth. Ethereal guitar and lush mellotrons help to create a sombre, yet punchy instrumental.
"Behind the Fold" followed on 18th July, as a psychedelic sister to his first single, using layered guitar and synths to create a "cloud of marshmallows". Both singles come with cover photography by Emma Hogan.
