Based in Leeds, producer and composer Jessie Marcella has always been drawn to deep, emotive soundscapes. Growing up playing the clarinet, Jessie found early inspiration for her own work in artists like Sigur Rós, Björk, Jon Hopkins, and classical composers such as John Tavener. Beyond this, her own sound is innately inspired by nature. Jessie crafts her unique brand of neo-classical dance by melding electronics with live strings and vocals, seamlessly intertwining neo-classical ambience with her higher energy dance tracks.
Jessie’s immersive live shows feature her signature visuals and animations, created in collaboration with incredibly talented vfx artist, BozViz. From dance-floor filing DJ sets in Albania, Dubai, and London’s Roundhouse, to live yoga and meditation sessions, Jessie has played live at The Great Escape Festival, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, ADE, and as UK tour support for Gold Panda, with more shows and new music planned for 2024.
Jessie was named as one of BBC Introducing West Yorkshire’s ‘Best of 2023’ as well as one of Youth Music's ‘Ones to Watch 2024’, and won the Youth Music Music Producer Award in 2022. Her music has been championed by Jaguar, Jamz Supernova and Sian Eleri on Radio 1, 6Music, and Selector Radio, and she has previously collaborated with Thrupence, Up North Session Orchestra, Josh Hooke, and Bicep.
