Josh Whitehouse is a British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor whose creative path began with the genre-blending acoustic band More Like Trees. After moving to London at 18 to pursue music, the band quickly gained traction—signing with BBE Records and releasing their debut album Roots, Shoots and Leaves, performing at major festivals worldwide.
His journey into acting began unexpectedly when director Elaine Constantine cast him as a dancer in Northern Soul, later offering him a lead role after two years of development. The breakout performance launched a parallel acting career, leading to roles such as Hugh Armitage in Poldark, the face of Mr. Burberry, and starring roles in films like The Knight Before Christmas (Netflix) and the MGM musical Valley Girl, where his vocals are featured throughout the soundtrack.
Josh’s music has always evolved alongside his acting. He released his debut solo EP Level Up, co-founded the collaborative project The High Cross Society with rapper Lazy Habits, and became part of Joe Driscoll’s rotating collective Local Posse, alongside acts like Reeps One, Dizraeli, Fjokra, and The Beatbox Collective.
In 2020, More Like Trees returned with their sophomore album Don't Disturb The Garden, and Josh continues to write, record, and produce music from his home studio and wherever his travels take him. His upcoming album reflects a new chapter—rooted in experience, vulnerability, and a relentless commitment to artistic growth.
