Juan Laya, also known as Los Charly's Orchestra (LCO), was born in Caracas-Venezuela, into a highly musical family. His mother, an avid vinyl collector, exposed him to a variety of genres from a young age, from Latin, rare groove, funk, disco, and jazz, all of which influenced his later sounds.

He is also the songwriter and co-producer of Los Charly's Orchestra (LCO), The Boogie Man, Andre Espeut Quintet, Chennez & The Midnight Players.
Laya is well known in the disco-funk scene in London, where he and his business partner and old friend, DJ Jorge Montiel, run their record label, Imagenes Recordings.
