Los Charly’s Orchestra is a London based music project created and directed by Venezuelan producers Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel. Combining a retro and a exhilarating modern sound, Los Charly’s Orchestra signature sound is characterized by a unique edge that blends the Boogie-Disco sound of the 70’s with a seriously Latin perspective.
Over the years the band has worked in collaboration with some of the most prolific current producers of the contemporary scene such as: Joey Negro, Jose Padilla (Cafe Del Mar), John Morales, Opolopo, Jose Luis Pardo (from Los Amigos Invisibles) & Pete Herbert.
LCO has also produced a well respected catalog among the connoisseurs of the Disco, Soul, Jazz Funk & Latin music, with songs that have truly become modern times classics all around the globe, including: History (Feat. Uk soul legend: Omar), Sunshine, Everlasting Love & My Barrio (between others) receiving the recognition of entities & personalities of the caliber of NME & Craig Charles (BBC6) due to their authenticity.
“These guys produce the best booga-flipping-loo we’ve heard in modern times. Their music is so delicious it makes you want to cover it in salt and pepper, then pop it in the slow cooker”. Craig Charles (Funk & Soul Show BBC 6)
“Super-fat bass-laden retro Latin Funk orchestral sounds from this ’70s-influenced, Nuyorican-Disco band – The ultimate loft party soundtrack” Time out
