Jussu Pöyhösen ura laulajana ja lauluntekijänä alkoi, kun hänen yhtye Suurlähettiläät nousi suosioon. Pitääxunaina?, Elokuun 11., Maailman laidalla, Kuka pysäyttäisi kellot? ja Kun tänään lähden kuuluvat suomalaisen popmusiikin sielunmaisemaan. Hän teki kaksi sooloalbumia pelkällä etunimellään Jussu vuosina 1997 ja 1999 ja myönteistä kritiikkiä vastaanottaneen englanninkielisen albumin Bel Vel vuonna 2013z Uusin albumi Pinnalla ilmestyi 2023.
