Kajagoogoo is a British new wave band best known for their infectious melodies, sleek style, and their iconic 1983 hit "Too Shy." Formed in 1979 in Leighton Buzzard, England, the band originally performed under the name Art Nouveau before rebranding as Kajagoogoo. The group consisted of Nick Beggs (bass, vocals), Limahl (lead vocals), Steve Askew (guitar), Stuart Neale (keyboards), and Jez Strode (drums).

Their debut album, White Feathers, produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, brought them instant success, blending catchy synth-pop hooks with polished production. "Too Shy" soared to No. 1 in the UK and became a global sensation, solidifying their place in the 1980s new wave scene. Follow-up singles like "Ooh to Be Ah" and "Hang on Now" continued to showcase their flair for vibrant, upbeat pop.

Despite internal tensions leading to Limahl’s departure after their debut album, Kajagoogoo persisted with a more experimental sound on albums like Islands and Crazy People’s Right to Speak. Though their initial run was short-lived, their influence on 1980s pop culture remains strong. Kajagoogoo's music endures as a quintessential snapshot of the synth-driven, fashion-forward era of new wave.
