The word "Kalkatraz" is a locally known sarcastic nickname for the artist's home island, Gotland. An island consisting of limestone ("kalk" in Swedish). Whether it is in fact a prison or if the prison exists entirely in the artist's own mind, is a question that remains unanswered.
