3歳からチェロを始め、クラシック音楽とともに育つ。作詞・作曲、イラストや衣装デザインなど多方面にわたる創作活動を展開。音楽とビジュアルを一貫した世界観で表現するスタイルが注目を集める。2008年にアーティストとしてデビュー。世界観とチェロを弾き歌う独自のパフォーマンスから国内外で評価され、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アジアなど多くの海外イベントに出演。アニメ作品の主題歌やゲーム音楽も多数手がけたことで、音楽とカルチャーの結びつきをさらに深め、国内外の幅広い層から支持を集めるようになる。そうした歩みの中で、2018年には自主レーベル「TRANSIENT RECORDS（トランジエント・レコーズ）」を設立。自身の創作により自由度を持たせるだけでなく、社会との関わりや価値観にも目を向けながら、柔軟で開かれた音楽活動を続けている。2019年末からはイギリスに拠点を移し、1年にわたり活動。再び日本を拠点に、音楽・アート垣根を越えた表現を探求し続けている。音楽を纏い、言葉を奏でる。静かに、確かに、世界を編む。
Kanon Wakeshima is a multi-talented artist who weaves music, visuals, and fashion into a seamless artistic world. Known for performing while playing the cello and singing, Her unique performance style and immersive world-building have gained attention both in Japan and internationally. She has appeared at cultural events across the United States, Europe, and Asia.Her work spans numerous anime theme songs and game soundtracks, which have further deepened her connection to Japanese pop culture and expanded her global fanbase.In 2018, she launched her independent label TRANSIENT RECORDS, allowing her greater freedom in artistic direction. Her music has since grown to reflect not only her personal vision but also her values and engagement with society at large.From late 2019 to the end of 2020, she was based in the UK, where she released the single “poolside”, recorded during her time abroad. Since returning to Japan in 2021, she continues to explore expressions that transcend boundaries between music, visual art, and fashion.
