Polish pop singer Kasi Cerekwicka (aka Kasia Cerekwicka, born Katarzyna Cerekwicka on March 17, 1980, in Koszalin, Poland) first caught the attention of her country when she was the victor on the 1997 television talent show Szansa Na Sukces (Chance for Success). From there, Cerekwicka scored a record deal, but 2000's debut, Mozaika, was a bit of a letdown, both commercially and artistically, for the young Cerekwicka, and the Polish pop star decided to re-imagine her artistic direction. The result of that retooling, 2006's Feniks, was a huge hit, resulting in a number one single as well as the Superjedynka Award for Record of the Year. While her pop career hit a high note, Cerekwicka went back to her television reality show roots, participating in Poland's version of Dancing with the Stars (Taniec z Gwiazdami), in which she placed fourth. In October 2007 Cerekwicka returned to the pop charts with her third album, Pokój 203 (Room 203). ~ Chris True, Rovi
