As one of the pioneers of Epic Extreme Metal, Norway's Keep Of Kalessin hold an impressive amount of milestones worth mentioning from their career.
Guitarist Arnt Obsidian Gronbech was the live guitarist in Satyricon from 2002 until 2007 and did about a thousand liveshows with them.
Keep Of Kalessin has always created high quality albums and this resulted in both albums ARMADA and KOLOSSUS being nominated to the norwegian grammy awards for best metal albums in the years 2006 and 2008.
They have toured with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Satyricon, Exodus and many, many more and have throughout the years received high acclaim for their very high quality in musicianship, songwriting and liveshows.
In 2010, they shocked to world by entering the Eurovision Song Contest in Norway. They got a lot of attention with their song "The Dragontower", but came 3rd place in Norway and did not reach all the way to the international finals.
The album REPTILIAN went straight to #2 on the Norwegian national charts and received top reviews in media all over the world.
After years of extensive touring it would take the band 5 years to release another album, but when EPISTEMOLOGY was released in 2015 and was praised from the metal media worldwide.
The new album KATHARSIS once again proves that Keep Of Kalessin is at the top of what norwegian extreme metal has to offer!
