Melodic rocker KimberlyNichole was an established independent musician and seasoned performer before she competed on The Voice during the reality talent show's eighth season. A native of Seattle, Washington who based herself in New York City, the singer, songwriter, and vocalist made her recorded debut in 2010 with The Yellow Brick Journey, an album she self-released. It caught the attention of director George C. Wolfe, who sought her out to appear in a performance scene of You're Not You, a film released in 2014 that starred Hilary Swank. KimberlyNichole reached an even wider audience in early 2015, when she was featured as a contestant on The Voice. During her run, she performed songs such as Ike & Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits," Sting's "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free," and Radiohead's "Creep," and finished in sixth place. Immediately after her departure from the show, she resumed her busy performance schedule. Later that week, she performed "Hey Joe" in New York, as a guest of Slash, at the guitarist's high-profile Terminal 5 gig. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
