Paris-based composer and pianist Kiril Richter is known for his distinctive style of expressive minimalism — a unique blend of minimalist techniques with bold, energetic, and unforgettable melodies. His evocative and cinematic compositions have earned him recognition in the contemporary neoclassical scene.

His work spans opera, ballet and cinema, with collaborations across disciplines, from couture houses to Olympic champions. With an academic background in nuclear physics and fashion design, his compositions blend structural precision with deep emotional resonance, bridging the worlds of science, design, and music.

His music has accompanied performances by Olympic figure skating champions, bringing his evocative sound to the world of elite athletics. In 2018, his composition ‘Where Angels Fear to Tread’ became the official theme for the FIFA World Cup, reaching millions of viewers globally. His works also include operas, such as ‘Tamerlano’ with famous opera director Stefano Poda and ballets like Seven Ages with choreography by Marco Goecke.

"My music is a soundtrack to life, reflecting moments that in one way or another have happened to me.
The stories I tell resonate in the lives of others, creating a sense that we all speak the same language."

In autumn 2025, his new album "Towards the Beloved City" will be released on Warner Classics, bringing his music to an even wider audience in the world of contemporary classical music.
