Hailing from the west side of Oʻahu, Koauka (meaning “mountain warriors”) has become one of Hawaiʻi’s most respected island music groups — blending smooth reggae grooves, local storytelling, and the unmistakable spirit of Waianae.

Formed in the early 2000s by Bronson Rosa, West Mulivai, Keahi Lau, and Tyrone “TC” Cabacungan, Koauka built their name through high-energy live shows and a sound that captures the heartbeat of the islands — laid-back, soulful, and unmistakably Hawaiian. Their music carries the strength of roots reggae with a contemporary island edge, resonating with fans across Hawaiʻi, the U.S. mainland, and the Pacific.

With standout albums like Strictly Style and Instantaneous, and crowd favorites such as “I Can Be the Guy”, Koauka continues to represent the pride and unity of Hawaiian culture through music. Their message is simple: aloha, community, and authenticity — done the Koauka way
