Koji Morishita started his musical career early learning to play the violin at the age of four. He graduated from a prestigious college named "Toho Gakuen School of Music" in Tokyo, Japan. He studied under Kenji Kobayashi, Chikashi Tanaka, Toshiya Eto, and his wife Angela Eto, among others.
While in college, Koji received a scholarship to study at the "University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music" in the USA with Dorothy DeLay and was awarded an honorable prize.
From 1994 to 2000, Koji recited annually in Tokyo, Sendai, and Kyoto as well as was the concertmaster of the "Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra".
Koji has been invited to perform in Taiwan (2013-16) and participated in "Gurk Music Festival" in Austria (2014) and "Musikalischer Sommer" in Ostfreisland, Germany. He has also performed as a guest concertmaster of the Balkan Chamber Orchestra in Serbia (2015) and played in Moscow with Maestro Vasily Valitov (2018). Recital in Moscow and as a gala concert soloist with the "Mariinsky Orchestra" in Saint Petersburg (2021).
Koji's musical talent was officially recognized by Hamamatsu City and Miyagi Prefecture in 1997 and 2004 respectively. Since 2013, he has been a specially appointed professor at "Osaka College" of Music, as well as playing as a soloist and as the principal solo concertmaster of the "Osaka Symphony Orchestra" since 2001. Koji plays the 1680 Antonio Stradivarius "Reichardt" on loan from Mr. H. Hiruma who resides in Hamamatsu City, Japan.
