LA Timpa is an artist, musician, producer, singer and songwriter. Nigerian born, in 2001 he immigrated to Canada he spent his formative years DJing, rapping and writing surrounded by other immigrants, religion, and in his teenage years, suburbia. In 2015, LA Timpa began collecting recordings and recorded with cassette players and his computer to produce. In 2016 he released his debut project “Animal” - EP on canadian record label Slow release. Following by self released single “2;ep1” and project “Garden” both in 2018. Timpa’s first album “Equal Amounts Afraid” was released in 2019 debuting on london label O___o?. In 2020 he collaborated and released video: website “Can you see it” with artist Klein, followed by his second solo album “Modern Antics In a Deserted Place” released by Halcyon Veil. Timpa in 2021 recorded a remix for Tricky’s “I’m in the doorway” and has recorded various other live mix’s and radio broadcasts (NTS, Ormside Projects, RINSE FM) to date. He’s most recent releases are a collaboration with Space Africa “Strength” and audio “Self Respect (I’m part of it all)” featured on the compilation MUSIC, both were released in 2021. In 2022 Timpa released his third solo album with label O___o?, “Pity by One All Good Treasure”, followed by Time of Marcker in 2024.
