Lavaud, pronounced “La-Vo”, is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Hackney, London with family origins from the island of Mauritius, a proud nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent.
“I grew up surrounded by all kinds of music. My father is my greatest influence and inspiration. He is an incredible person, musician and teacher. I was exposed to so much music with him, he taught me how to play the guitar and I grew up in a household listening to everything from Sega, a traditional Mauritian sound, R&B, Pop, Reggae and Gospel.”
Lavaud made her first Billboard chart visit, with her song “Roll On Me” featuring Tiwa Savage, Patoranking and Reekado Banks, “Roll on Me.” It debuted at No. 4 on the world digital song sales and no. 28 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats songs chart.
Her latest release ‘3AM In London’ is out now exploring a fusion of Afro-Electro -R&B. Lavaud continues to push the boundaries with her music through the elements of sounds and lyrics talking about the depths of her truth of her wild, memorable nights in her home town.
