The Local Astronauts are an American songwriting and production Duo featuring Kenrick Mejia aka PolyRob and Badru Umi aka BADRU / “GoodKingBad” formed in Inglewood, CA, in 2016. PolyRob the Lead Producers provides a diverse multi-genre production style laced with gritty elements & heavy bass. While BADRU curates the execution of the teams production and lyrical features. Since their inception, The Local Astronauts have produced and worked with a variety of Hip Hop, Alternative and R&B artists, including Aceyalone, Jay Worthy, Conway the Machine, Larry June, Cali Swag District, Papoose, Planet Asia, The Outlawz and many others. Their songs have also been featured in various Television and Film syncs such as; Summer Night, The Package (Netflix), Shots Fired (FOX network), L.A.s Finest (FOX, Netflix) and others.
In 2019 the Local Astronauts duo began to expand into a collective focused on developing talent, curated collaborations and music exploration, presently consisting of additional Music Producers; Tony Ozier and Dae One and other talented artists /musicians.
