Lovers (Harry Benson) grew up in a small, very boring town outside of London - like many frustrated teens he wound up playing in punk bands, but after visiting legendary clubs like Turnmills and Fabric in the early 2000s, electronic music soon took hold, and he moved over to throwing parties and DJing from the age of 17.

Whilst studying in the historic house city of Leeds, he bought his first pair of Turntables for a measly £300 and quickly began a lifelong love of crate digging and vinyl collecting, influenced heavily by his Mum’s teen taste of Motown, Jazz-Funk and Disco. A self education in the ways of Levan, Knuckles and Francois K would become the guiding inspirations behind Lovers.

Cut to 5 years later and a move to New York, with various production aliases and the experience of DJing around the world under his belt, Lovers connected with old friends Let’s Play House who picked up his debut EP Grand St Blues. Now with his second EP just dropping, he’s focussing on his own label, doing things his own way and releasing music when it feels right.
